RSUC vs KTJ 24 Nov 2019
It was a bright and sunny Sunday when we played a youthful KTJ side. The game started at 0930 hours, we lost the toss and were asked to bat. RSUC side was strengthen by the inclusion of our Squash Coach, Abas who opened the innings with Kuven. It was clear from the start that Abas was intent to be aggressive. Although he did not last long, he proved that with a couple more games, he would be a portent batsman. This, he showed when he hit a massive six that sent the ball many a mile. When Abas was bowled for 15 runs, Kuven and Syaris kept the score running. Kuven went out tamely after making 30 runs but the batsmen of the day belonged to Syaris with his patient 52. At the end of 25 overs our score was 167 runs.
KTJ provided us with lunch during the 15 minutes break. It certainly was a hot day when we trooped out to field. The youthful KTJ boys wasn’t a pushover. They were fit and their running in between wicket was impeccable. Some wayward bowling from our opening bowler presented KTJ with valuable runs in the opening over. Their opening batsman Shami was finally removed by Syaris after making 72 runs. The boys were still making a run for it but the introduction of Mohidin slowed down their run rate. Desmond chipped in with 3 wickets, Kuven and Ashih one a piece. At the end it was all in vain as we beat them by 25 runs.
RSUC 167 runs, KTJ 142 runs.
Well done RSUC.
